Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Peddi starring Ram Charan, the Madras High Court has issued crucial anti-piracy orders to prevent the film from being leaked online.

The court directed that the movie should not be illegally uploaded, copied, streamed, or distributed on the internet in any form. These interim anti-piracy injunction orders were issued by the vacation bench while hearing a petition filed by the film’s production house regarding copyright protection.

Court Grants Dynamic Injunction Protection

The High Court observed that any unauthorized leak of the film through online platforms could cause huge financial losses to the producers. Keeping this in mind, the court granted strong legal protection to Peddi through an anti-piracy injunction.

The Madras High Court also issued dynamic injunction orders, which allow authorities to automatically block newly created URLs and mirror websites that may upload the pirated content of Peddi even after the original website is blocked. This ensures continuous protection against evolving piracy threats.

What Is an Anti-Piracy Injunction?

An anti-piracy injunction is a legal safeguard obtained by copyright holders to ensure that their movies or web series are not illegally copied or streamed on piracy websites. Similar protective measures were recently sought in the Jana Nayagan leak case, highlighting the industry’s growing focus on pre-release piracy prevention.

With major films like Jailer 2 facing online leaks, the Madras High Court Peddi order sets a strong precedent for protecting big-budget releases from unauthorized distribution.
